CISSOID’s Silicon Carbide (SiC) Inverter Platform offers optimized electrical & mechanical integration of 3-Phase SiC MOSFET Intelligent Modules (IPMs) from CISSOID together with OLEA® control solution and application software from Silicon Mobility.
At the heart of this platform is a family of 1200V SiC IPMs from CISSOID, with 340A-550A DC current rating, that contain high-temperature gate drivers solving the challenges of driving fast-switching SiC transistors and accelerating the design of high-power density inverters. As SiC low switching losses enables higher inverter operating frequency, it increases the demand for real-time control hardware and software.
The control hardware relies on Silicon Mobility OLEA® T222 Field-Programmable Control Unit (FPCU), which provides real-time processing, control and functional safety optimized for automotive applications. The platform integrates Silicon Mobility’s OLEA APP INVERTER control software, and developers can use OLEA COMPOSER design tools to quickly develop and optimize the motor-control software. Proper interfaces with current, position, speed and temperature sensors are also provided.
Besides the SiC Inverter Starting Kit, including the SiC IPM and Control Board, the platform comes with additional hardware that can be purchased from CISSOID or its partners: a liquid cooler 3D reference design and a set of DC-Link capacitors offering low ESR/ESL well suited for fast switching and high-power density.
