Dear Friends,

We have been enjoying a few nice late-summer days with some sunshine lately. I recently decided to keep my EV after the lease ends. I can charge it with electricity from my photovoltaic system most of the time, which makes driving electric even more interesting when I look at the current gasoline prices. And the ongoing reports about how well these batteries have held up have removed the last small doubts I might have had. That was actually one of the reasons I decided to lease the car in the first place. Four years ago, it was not yet clear how well these batteries would age. At least, not to me.

I am now curious to see how much of the automotive world will find its way into my WBG Event later this year. Or will everything be dominated by AI and data centers? That would be perfectly fine with me too, although I hope we can continue to promote electromobility and renewable energy, since these topics are a little closer to my heart. AI, however, still has to prove its practicality and usefulness to an engineer from the old days!
